VisitMath

The Erasmus+ project “VisitMath” integrates mathematics with real-world exploration, connecting maths concepts to cultural and historical sites. This allows for interdisciplinarity with the European architectural patrimony, history and also foreign languages. The goal is to help pupils understand and apply math in real-life contexts while (re)discovering European cities,

The project includes various resources:

  • The pedagogical tours guide students through different European cities, where they solve math challenges related to architecture, geometry, measurements, and urban planning.
  • The e-books offer engaging, story-driven challenges that integrate math into narratives, making learning enjoyable and accessible.
  • To support educators, the project also provides pedagogical sequences, which are structured lesson plans.
  • Additionally, three different guides ensure educators can effectively organise math field tours, integrate activities into their curriculum, and create their own mathematical tours.

The target audience includes secondary school students, especially those who struggle with traditional math learning environments. It also benefits teachers looking for innovative teaching methods.
